Welcome to Twila Reid School!
My name is Ms. Lauren Stuart, and I'm honored and excited to serve as Principal at Twila Reid Elementary School for the 2025–26 school year! Before joining Twila Reid, I had the privilege of teaching at Hansen School, where I developed a deep appreciation for building strong, supportive learning communities. Following that, I had the honor of serving as Principal at Cerritos School for six years. These experiences have shaped my passion for fostering inclusive environments where all students can thrive both academically and personally.
Twila Reid School, home of the Rams, is a beautiful campus nestled next to Twila Reid Park in West Anaheim. Our dedicated and caring staff are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring environment where each student can flourish. We strive to provide a well-rounded education that extends beyond academics, emphasizing character development, critical thinking, and creativity — ensuring our students grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
The moment you step onto our campus, you’ll feel the vibrant spirit that makes Reid so special. Our students truly show that Reid Rams ROCK! They are Respectful, Own their actions, Cooperative, and Kind in all that they do. These core character traits guide them to build strong friendships, face challenges with confidence, and grow into caring, responsible citizens.
At Twila Reid, we are deeply dedicated to educational excellence and work tirelessly to support every child’s success. Our staff create engaging opportunities for students to connect and play during morning and lunch recess, encouraging positive peer interactions and healthy activity. We love celebrating student achievements at our monthly Flag Ceremonies, where we recognize excellent attendance and positive behavior. Our popular PBIS store gives students a fun way to trade in their R.O.C.K. slips for special prizes every Friday, reinforcing positive choices and building school spirit.
We believe that strong partnerships with families are key to student success. We invite you to stay involved and connected throughout the year, and we encourage you to join us for our wonderful PTA events and activities. Together, we can make Reid a place where learning is joyful and every student shines. I can’t wait to welcome you to our community — at Reid, every child truly ROCKS!

Reid School's Instructional Program
Our instructional strategies and practices are carefully aligned with the Common Core State Standards to ensure a strong academic foundation for all students. At Twila Reid, our dedicated staff provide a high-caliber learning experience within a caring and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and respected. We strive for all students to develop and maintain a lifelong love of learning!
Mastering academic vocabulary, becoming fluent readers with strong analytical thinking skills, and learning to communicate effectively through writing are essential for student success. In grades 3-6, students will also focus on developing their cursive writing skills, adding an important dimension to their written communication. This year, we are excited to begin the implementation of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) opportunities, allowing every student to participate in dance, theatre arts, and choral music. In addition, we will introduce a new history-social science curriculum designed to engage students in meaningful exploration of the world around them and inspire them to become thoughtful, informed citizens.
These skills and experiences will be emphasized in all classrooms and at every grade level as we continue to equip our students to build a bright and successful future!
